mefa Apawu is a seasoned media and communications professional with over two decades of experience spanning journalism, public relations, and strategic communication. She currently serves as the Communications and Public Affairs Manager at the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), where she leads initiatives to shape and enhance the Corporation’s brand, visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining PHDC, she worked with the Multimedia Group Limited (MGL), Ghana’s leading media conglomerate, where she anchored Newsnite and the Midday News on Joy 99.7FM, and hosted The Probe on JOYNEWS TV. Her career in media began in 2003 at Radio Gold and includes notable roles at XFM, Radio XYZ, and Class FM.
Emefa holds a Master’s degree in Defence and International Politics, along with a certificate in Conflict Resolution and Crisis Management from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. She also has a background in public communication from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys moderating events, MCing, designing children’s clothing, and producing “Quiqui Shito,” her signature homemade pepper sauce. She is passionate about the power of media to effect change and remains open to opportunities that support this mission.
