bigail is a highly accomplished Senior Programme Manager and technical advisor, bringing two decades of extensive experience in governance, anti-corruption, and transnational organized crime. Her proven ability to manage large-scale development programs is complemented by her deep technical understanding of these complex issues. She excels in providing strategic leadership and day-to-day program management, ensuring responsiveness to donor requirements and seamless collaboration with technical advisors.
Most recently, as Programme Manager for the USAID-funded Ghana Performance Accountability Activity, Abigail demonstrated exceptional leadership in developing programmatic strategies and fostering strong stakeholder engagement across state and non-state actors. Her efforts ensured the program consistently met technical workplan objectives and maintained the highest quality standards. Prior to this, her technical advisory roles on the GIZ-funded Support to the Mitigation of Destabilizing Effects of Transnational Organised Crime (M-TOC) and the ECOWAS Organised Crime, West Africa Response to Trafficking (OCWAR-T) projects showcased her expertise in transnational crime. On the M-TOC project she supported the Head of project with technical and financial management, and on OCWAR-T she provided technical expertise in coordinating research and building research capacity across the ECOWAS region.
Abigail’s program management proficiency is further evidenced by her tenure as Project Coordinator at GII and Programme Officer for the UNDP Legal Justice Sector Reform Programme, where she provided crucial technical oversight to the PMU within Ghana’s Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department. She is adept at managing substantial budgets, collaborating with finance teams for accurate reporting, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
A recognized expert in her field, Abigail is a member of the African and West African Transitional Justice Networks (ATJRN and Want-Justice) and a fellow of the Transitional Justice Fellowship Programme. Her extensive background in research and advocacy, gained through her work at CDD-Ghana, highlights her commitment to governance, media, elections, and transitional justice. Abigail holds a Master of Arts in Conflict, Security and Development from the prestigious King’s College London, a BA in Political Science from the University of Ghana and a Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
